The Surgical Treatment of the Congenital Dislocation of the Hip



Abstract
Authors emphasized the early diagnosis followed by early treatment is superior to any other things in the congenital disolocation of the hip joint.
Many operative procedures and modifications have been postulated such as open reduction, arthroplasty, osteotomy of innominate bone, shelf operation, acetabuloplasty, rotation osteotomy and femoral osteotomy.
We have eyperienced 9 cases of the congenital dislocation of hip joint who was porformed a surgical treatment from January 1960 to December 1969.
The result of this study are as followings;
1) All cases were female and the age districution was from 1 year 8 months to 5years 1 month.
2) The radiographic findings including acetabular index, Y-coordinate, li of Hilgenreiner, C-E angle were improved in all cases after the surgical treatment.
3) In the follow-up study (from 6 months to 3 years 4 months) of clinical and radiographic findings, excellent ang good result was obtained in all cases with the surgical treatment.
